During this past week, we’ve learned about the importance of Scripture and keeping it close, writing it down and passing it on. Regularly spending time in God’s word helps us know him better and deepens our trust in him.
Today, I invite you to carve out a few quiet moments to reread the verses that really spoke to you this week. Some possibilities may include Deuteronomy 8 or James 1:2-4. Then look back on the notes you captured Sunday and reflect on the actions you took this week. Consider how you grew closer to God and his Holy Spirit as you read through his Word..
You may consider making additional notes as you explore the following questions:
What did you learn about the importance of reading and studying Scripture this week? Which study method, from either the featured article on the app or Friday’s post, seems like it might work well for you to try?
What is one thing that went well? What was challenging or difficult?
How can you continue to keep God’s word close during times of poverty and times of plenty?
Prayer:
Father, it is such a privilege that you want to connect with your children through your Word. Lord, give me a desire to read Scripture regularly and open my heart and mind with what you want me to learn, so that I may grow closer to you.
Series Theme Verse:
John 14:26
“But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.”
