Throughout this past week, we have considered how the words we use are indicative of what we are holding inside. Often our helpful and unhealthful words are due to unresolved sin in our lives. It’s an opportunity to examine ourselves and move forward from a place of humility. When we remember God’s great love for us, we can live from this grace and share it with others.
Today, I invite you to carve out a few quiet moments to reread the verses that really spoke to you this week. Some possibilities may come from last weekend’s message, such as Proverbs 4:23 or Luke 6:43-45. Then look back on the notes you captured from last Sunday and reflect on the actions you took this week.
Prayer:
Father, thank you for the love and grace that you extend so freely to me. I confess, I often respond to others in unhealthful or unhelpful ways due to my sin and what I am holding inside. Today, help me release this to you, so that I may break down any barriers in communication with others and step into relationships with humility. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Ephesians 4:29
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
