Throughout this past week, we have explored how understanding our own temperament and that of others can strengthen our relationships. By considering how others are uniquely created we can choose words that convey compassion and build them up rather than destroy them (Proverbs 11:9).
Today, I invite you to carve out a few quiet moments to reread the verses that really spoke to you this week. Some possibilities may come from last weekend’s message, such as Matthew 20:29-34 or Philippians 2:5-7. Then look back on the notes you captured from last Sunday and reflect on the actions you took this week.
Prayer:
Lord, you spoke the world into creation with marvelous beauty and creativity. Today, help me be mindful of the uniqueness of those around me. Help me be a light for you in my interactions with others. Give me eyes to see how you have wired them and choose words and responses that will build them up rather than tear them down. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Ephesians 4:29
Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.
