Weekend Series: Friends

DreamTeam Writer: Kelly Pagel

Saturday, June 1, 2024

Throughout this past week we explored how the early church family lived and cared for each other. And while doing life with other believers isn’t always easy, it is worth the risk. Coming together each weekend to praise God is an important part of what doing life together means.

Hebrews 10:25
And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his [Jesus’] return is drawing near.

Today read Acts 2:38-47, and consider the area you most need to strengthen. Is it being devoted, amazed or generous? Then reflect on how you can encourage other believers and build them up. Look back on any notes you may have captured over the past few days and jot down any actions you took this week.

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the gift of my church family. As summer begins, help me remember the importance of meeting together regularly—to come together in your house to worship you and be encouraged in faith. I praise you for your gift of grace through Christ and the family I have been adopted into. Use me, ,to spread the Good News of salvation and grow your family even larger. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Series Theme Verse:

Proverbs 17:17 ESV
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
