Over the past week, we’ve been exploring the idea that loving God is our response to his love for us. Today, I encourage you to carve out a few quiet moments and look back on the notes you captured Sunday reflecting on how God grew you.
Reread the verses that really spoke to you throughout the week. Some possibilities may include Matthew 22:37-40, Psalm 139:17-18, or John 15:9-12.
You may consider making additional notes as you explore the following questions:
How did you love others as Christ loves you this week?
What did you notice about yourself as you intentionally made the most of these opportunities? What is one thing that went well? Was anything challenging or difficult?
How can you continue to love and share God’s love with those whom he has placed in your life?
Prayer:
21 Days of Prayer
Day 6 Prayer Focus - For My Love for God and Others to Grow (Matthew 22:36-39)
Heavenly Father, you have taught me that the greatest way to honor you is to love you with all my being. As I seek you in these 21 Days of Prayer, deepen my faith in you and my passion for you so that I will love you more. Then, as my love for you overflows, help me to love others as you love me every day. Amen.
Series Theme Verse:
1 John 4:10-11
10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other.
