So, is just accepting Jesus enough? As followers of Christ, we accept him as our Lord and Savior and then we're done, right?
Not quite! As God’s children, we are called to share the Gospel of Jesus, to tell everyone who will listen—it’s our mission. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus tells us to “go and make disciples of all nations.” We have a duty to reach out to others, as Jesus did, and invite them into the adventure of living life in a whole new way.
I take every opportunity I’m given to talk about Jesus. If you know me, you know that serious isn’t my thing, but I take these moments very seriously—because I’m dealing with someone's eternal life. I don’t want to be responsible for anyone turning away from Jesus. My goal is to teach others to turn toward him.
Luke 10:16-19
16 Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts your message is also accepting me. And anyone who rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects me is rejecting God, who sent me.”
17 When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!”
18 “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning! 19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.”
If you had the antidote for someone who had just been bitten by a poisonous snake, would you share it? Me too! Now consider this: If we don’t tell people about Jesus, how is that any different than withholding an antidote?
Galatians 1:11
Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning.
Christ followers have been given authority over the enemy. We have been blessed with the answer to life's toughest questions, and we need to share it with everyone who is willing to listen. Satan has an army. He doesn't want people to know the fact that his darkness cannot conquer the light. There are too many people living in darkness, without the love, hope, and forgiveness Jesus offers.
Leading others to Christ is one of life's greatest pleasures. Introducing someone to Jesus and having a front row seat as they come to the realization that they are loved, saved, and called a child of God is so amazing! What are you waiting for? Don’t hold back the cure.
Get out there and share God’s message—start talking about Jesus!

Prayer:
Dear Father, thank you for the opportunity to lead people to Jesus and teach them about having authority over evil. Help me to be bold and confident with my words when I share my story of salvation with others. When I am afraid to share your Good News in public, give me the courage to talk openly and lovingly about Jesus. Open the hearts and minds of those hearing the message, and give them the strength and spiritual understanding that only comes from you. I pray that all who hear about you and your loving Son, Jesus, take up their crosses and follow so that they, too, may know true freedom. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
