Through my life experiences and study of the Word of God, I have come to learn the true meaning of what Jesus has done for us. It’s incredible! The precious gift of salvation is ours if we freely choose to place our faith in him.
Our souls and spirits are eternal, so the question is not whether we will live for eternity, it's—where will we choose to live out our eternal lives? The definition of death is spending eternity without God, and it is what we deserve on account of our sin. It is not unique to those who do evil. It applies to you and me as well—we all sin and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
Because of what Jesus did for us, we now have the opportunity to spend eternity with him in heaven when we put our faith in him. He has given us victory over death. The life-giving blood he shed for us covers our sin and allows us to be in the presence of a Holy God.
1 Corinthians 15:57
But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Because of his great love for us, God humbled himself by coming to earth in visible form as a baby. After 30 years on this earth, he suffered a brutal death on the cross for our sins and was buried. But it didn’t end there. On the third day, he rose again and ascended into heaven, where he went to prepare a place for us with the Father.
The victory has already been won! Just as he first loved us and chose us, we now have the opportunity to choose life with him. Through him, we receive mercy (God not giving us what we deserve) and grace (God giving us what we don’t deserve), when we place our trust in Jesus.
Yes, he loves us that much! This is the Good News of the Gospel. Hallelujah, thank you, Jesus!
What will you choose?
Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.
Questions:
Have you chosen Jesus Christ as Lord over your life?
What do you believe about Jesus?
If you believe Jesus is your Savior, do you know why you believe that?
Next Steps:
If you have not already given your life to Christ and want him to be your Lord and Savior, confess to him that you don’t deserve his love but want to live for him from now on, and then accept his gracious gift of eternal life.
If you have chosen Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior over your life, renew your commitment to him by telling him of your love for him now.
If there is someone you have been holding a grudge against, forgive them just as God has forgiven you because of what Jesus did for you (see Ephesians 4:32).
Prayer:
Father God, may all who read this choose to place their faith in you. May we live in, with, and through your grace and may our names be included in your Book of Life. May we choose your one plan for salvation, which is through your Son, Jesus Christ, and in whose name we now pray, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Romans 1:20
For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
