This past week, we unpacked four lessons to help us prevent resentment from taking control:
- Address the pain—prevent the stain.
- Stay humble—avoid the stumble.
- Don’t rebel against authority—choose loyalty.
- Forgiveness is granted—consequences are planted.
Today, take some time to review the scripture that stood out to you. You may consider reading Proverbs 16:18, Ephesians 4:26-27, or perhaps 2 Samuel 13 to remind yourself of how Absalom's troubles began. Look back on any notes you may have captured over the past few days and jot down any actions you took this week.
Where is God inviting you to resolve issues so resentment doesn’t take control?
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for your Word to make me aware of my actions. Help me to humbly learn from the story of Absalom. Instead of becoming resentful, assist me in seeking your guidance and addressing the issues in front of me, trusting in your love for me. Thank you for the gift of your Son, Jesus. It’s in his name that I pray, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Psalm 37:3-4
3 Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
