We have been created for community! Over this past week, we have read about the foundations of a good friendship. By looking beyond the surface, being vulnerable, and loving others as we have been loved, we have the opportunity to develop life-giving relationships.

Jesus modeled this for us when he laid down his life for our sin, so we could have a right relationship with God, and we are called to do the same with others.

Today, I invite you to carve out a few quiet moments to reread the verses that really spoke to you this week. Some possibilities may include 2 Corinthians 5:21 and 1 Samuel 16:7. Then look back on the notes you captured from last Sunday and reflect on the actions you took this week.

You may consider making additional notes as you explore the following questions:

What have you learned about God and his love for us?

In what ways will the world recognize you as Jesus' disciple by how you treat others?

Prayer:
Lord, thank you for caring for me and loving me so completely that you sent your Son, so I could be made right with you. Help me look beyond the surface and love others well, so they may come to know you. In Jesus name, amen.
