This past week, we explored how unresolved problems only persist. Honesty with ourselves, God, and others, is required to right the mistakes we have made regardless of the consequences.
Today, take some time to review the Scripture that stood out to you. You may consider reading Psalm 51:1-7 or chapters 2 Samuel 11 or 2 Samuel 12 to gain insight into the full story around David and Bathsheba. Then reflect on David’s resistance to resolve the issue, and ultimately his humility. Look back on any notes you may have captured over the past few days and jot down any actions you took this week.
Where is God inviting you to be honest with yourself, him, and others?
Prayer:
Father, I like King David, am prone to let my unresolved problems persist instead of dealing with them head on. But this isn’t the solution, Lord! Instead, give me the confidence to face them, remind me of your never-ending love of me, and help me get honest with myself, you, and others. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Series Theme Verse:
Psalm 37:3-4
3 Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
