Weekend Series: Scary Things God Asks Us to Do

DreamTeam Writer: Kelly Pagel

Saturday, October 21, 2023

During this past week, we’ve learned about honoring God and trusting him with our finances. As we do, we will become more aware of all the blessings he has given us. He wants us to seek him first and he will give us everything we need (Matthew 6:33).

Today, I invite you to carve out a few quiet moments to reread the verses that really spoke to you this week. Some possibilities may include Matthew 6:24, Matthew 6:31-33, or Malachi 3:10. Then look back on the notes you captured Sunday and reflect on the actions you took this week. Take time to consider how you currently honor God with your finances and why you do so in this way.

You may consider making additional notes as you explore the following questions:

What would it look like to give to God first, before saving or spending? What would be challenging or difficult with that?

Prayer:
Father, I love you and want to honor you with all that I am. Help me to do this with all aspects of my life, including my finances. I know you are a Father who gives good gifts, because you sent the best gift of all—your Son. Help me to trust completely in you and rest in your love.

Series Theme Verse:

Matthew 6:33
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
